Audiologist
Dr. Rhiannon Hinckley is a dedicated audiologist providing comprehensive hearing and balance care to patients of all ages. Her clinical training spans hospital systems, an ENT specialty practice, a Veterans Affairs federal health care center, a dedicated pediatric hearing program, and a university teaching clinic; experience that has prepared her to evaluate the full spectrum of hearing concerns and to work closely alongside ear, nose, and throat physicians in coordinating patient care.
Dr. Hinckley earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Psychology, from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. She went on to complete her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating in May 2026. Her doctoral training included a full-year clinical externship at Tampa Bay Hearing and Balance Center in Tampa, FL, where she collaborated directly with otolaryngologists.
At the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL, she conducted comprehensive hearing evaluations for adult veterans and made hearing device recommendations. Through Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System in Mattoon and Effingham, IL, she performed diagnostic testing for patients of all ages. She also completed rotations at Carle at the Riverfront in Danville, IL, and Sertoma Speech and Hearing Center in Crest Hill, IL, where she gained additional experience in hearing aids and patient counseling.
Her pediatric expertise was developed at Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities (ECHO) in Champaign, IL. At the University of Illinois Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Clinic, she spent two years building her diagnostic skills while developing broad familiarity with hearing aid software.
Dr. Hinckley has served as Membership Director for the Student Academy of Audiology chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, leading recruitment and programming for the organization. She has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supervising students, assisting with lecture instruction and course assignments, and providing weekly feedback to students.
Across every clinical setting, Dr. Hinckley takes time to explain findings clearly, discuss options honestly, and make recommendations that fit each patient’s hearing needs and daily life.
Dr. Hinckley’s combination of diagnostic training, pediatric and vestibular experience, and patient-centered counseling makes her a valuable addition to the hearing care team at ENT Specialists.
